Why does Gaston eat eggs in the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast?

When Gaston is singing the line:





';When I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs every morning to help me get large.';





Gaston is seen juggling several eggs; and then he swallows them raw, shell and all.





Does anybody find this wierd or what?Why does Gaston eat eggs in the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast?
Basically raw eggs are included in a protein shake to build muscles...Gaston is not only strong but he is also not too bright...(example...Belle how can you read this thing where are the pictures?) But that works when you want your men muscular and dumb!Why does Gaston eat eggs in the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast?
i would say the singing candlestick is wierder.

Isn't that a body-builder kind of thing? Eggs are like pure protein. Protein is the building block for muscle. So he's eating eggs to show how much of a muscle-head he is.
He's a big guy and he needed the protein (plus, I think the film was set before whey-protein shakes were readily available........and those shakes would have sucked being incorporated into a song)
